Carbon-Supported Nickel Catalysts—Comparison in Alpha-Pinene Oxidation Activity

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this work, carbon-supported nickel catalysts with different Ni content (1, 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 wt%) were tested in the oxidation of alpha-pinene solvent-free reaction conditions. The process catalyst preparation consisted two stages. first stage, activated carbon from spent coffee grounds was obtained. second active phase form compounds applied using methods: (1) impregnation material salt solution, next reduction H2, (2) hydrothermal method autoclave reductor stabilizer. obtained subjected to following instrumental studies: FT-IR, XRD, SEM, N2 adsorption at −196 °C. performed catalytic tests showed that containing 5 wt% (porous by method) 1 most alpha-pinene, main products oxide, verbenol, verbenone. Ultimately, turned out be more advantageous because it allows one obtain higher selectivities epoxide compound, probably due greater stability organic compound pores.

Nickel supported on nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes as hydrogen oxidation reaction catalyst in alkaline electrolyte

The development of a low-cost, high-performance platinum-group-metal-free hydroxide exchange membrane fuel cell is hindered by the lack of a hydrogen oxidation reaction catalyst at the anode. Here we report that a composite catalyst, nickel nanoparticles supported on nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes, has hydrogen oxidation activity similar to platinum-group metals in alkaline electrolyte. Althou...

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes supported palladium nanoparticles: Synthesis, characterization and catalytic activity towards methanol electro oxidation in alkaline media

Palladium nanoparticles supported on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Pd/MWCNTs) have been synthesized using a modified polyol reduction method and its performance in methanol oxidation reactions has evaluated. The morphology of palladium on MWCNTs was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The catalytic performance of synthesized catalyst ...

Electrocatalytic Activity of Palladium Nanocatalysts Supported on Carbon Nanoparticles in Formic Acid Oxidation

Palladium nanostructures were deposited onto carbon nanoparticle surface by a chemical reduction method. Transmission electron microscopic studies showed that whereas the resulting metal-carbon (Pd-CNP) nanocomposites exhibited a diameter of 20 to 30 nm, the metal components actually showed a cauliflower-like surface morphology that consisted of numerous smaller Pd nanoparticles (3 to 8 nm). El...

Electrosynthesized Reduced Graphene Oxide-Supported Platinum, Platinum-Copper and Platinum-Nickel Nanoparticles on Carbon-Ceramic Electrode for Electrocatalytic Oxidation of Ethanol in Acidic Media

In this work, the electrocatalytic oxidation of ethanol was studied in acidic media at the wholly electrosynthesized nanocomposites: platinum and its alloys (copper and nickel) anoparticles/reduced graphene oxide on the carbon-ceramic electrode (Pt/rGO/CCE, Pt-Cu/rGO/CCE, and Pt-Ni/rGO/CCE electrocatalysts). The electrosynthesized nanocomposites were characterized by scan...
